I think most of you would agree with me that sometimes being a Christian is hard. If you not sure, try one week being meek. There is no easy way to be a Christian, as a matter of fact it’s the only army that requires you to die when you join. God doesn’t want us to work for Him, or to live for Him, He wants us to die to ourselves and let Him live and work through us.
Now, although that sounds simple, it is, as most of us have found, terribly difficult at times. The temptation to throw up our hands and and scream, “That’s it! I quit! I’m not Christ! I can’t do this! Is there more often than most of us would care to admit.
Beloved, God knows that, and although He told us to be perfect, even as our Father in heaven is perfect, Matt. 5:48, He knew that we would never be able to do it without Him. To assist us, He gave us His Word, and His Spirit to help us understand it. If if that wasn’t enough, He promises to NEVER leave us or forsake us Heb. 13:5.
PRAYER: O Lord, help us to know You, and through knowing You, help us to be like you. Teach us to let go and let You! Amen.
